    Free Live Webinar

    Saturday, June 20, 2020 | 9:00 – 11:00 am  (*2 CE hours)

The high-profile slayings of Black Americans: George FloFloyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Tamir Rice, and more, have lead to numerous marches, protests, and vigils throughout the nation. The Black Lives Matter movement has shed light on the injustices facing Black communities and has provided a statement of affirmation that Black lives do indeed matter. Dr. Luke Wood, Ph.D. will draw parallels between the ways that Black boys and men are devalued and over-criminalized in society and the ways they are educated. Tangible solutions for promoting the learning, development, and success of Black males are offered. CAMFT Board Secretary Dr. Lisa Romain, Psy.D. will facilitate the Q&A portion of the presentation.

This presentation was originally scheduled as the keynote at CAMFT's conference that was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. CAMFT recognizes the importance of presenting this webinar to MFTs, considering the state of our country, when therapists are empowered to help their clients talk openly about the profound mental health consequences that racial traumas may have on people within historically oppressed populations.

*This FREE webinar will offer two free CE hours will be awarded to CAMFT members attending the entire live presentation on Saturday, June 20. The CE certificate will be issued via email on Tuesday, June 23.

Can't attend the live webinar? Be sure to check CAMFT's On-Demand Library on Tuesday, June 23 to view the free recording.

Please note: The On-Demand Library will offer the option to purchase the test and CE certificate ($40).
